Commercial System
Location: Visalia Airport - Visalia, CA
Size: 30 Kilowatts (kw)
|
Project Details:
Visalia California is located in the heart of the Central Valley, an area rich in agriculture and history. In 2005
the City of Visalia contracted with Deventec to install a 29,721Watt Photovoltaic system at the City's Airport. Besides
the incredible energy and financial savings that a photovoltaic system installed by Deventec can provide, a major
selling point of this particular system was the creative mounting possibilities that were presented by Deventec to
the City of Visalia. Of the 171 solar modules included in this system, 150 of these were mounted on cantilevered 6"x 6"
columns providing the city's airport with valuable shaded parking. In a valley where summer temperatures regularly exceed
105 degrees Fahrenheit, the added shade has become valuable real estate to the airport patrons. Although the shade is
great the true value of the system lies in the 59,900+ annual kWh of electricity that the system will produce.
